FALL SELECTIONS

2011 Waussie Riesling
Columbia Valley. 2011 is the 4th vintage of the Waussie. The cool season resulted in this wine being the epitome of Riesling. It has tension and acidity and is bursting with flavor. Cellar for a long time... if you have the patience.

2009 Malbec
Horse Heaven Hills. Every year we hunt for our favorite blocks of Malbec and in 2009, we had to look no further than our own Canoe Ridge Estate where Malbec thrives nicely and produced some wonderful fruit from this warm vintage. Canoe Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon adds another layer of density.

I'd like to start out by thanking all of the club members who came out to enjoy our appreciation events this year. We had a fantastic time hosting you and your guests. This year we had two great performances, one from Classic Albums Live and one from 1964. For all you dancers out there, don't worry, we won’t share any videos! We hope you enjoyed the events and we hope to see you again next summer.
Fall is just around the corner and it brings a lot of fun stuff with it. We are hosting tons of events here at the winery, so stay tuned for some exciting new happenings. Also just around the corner we will be hosting an Oktoberfest Chef Dinner exclusive for VRC members. Book today so you don't miss out.
Cheers,
Sarah Kaulfers, Wine Club Supervisor

Art, Jazz and Wine Event a Huge Success
The weather was beautiful on September 2nd for our first annual Labor Day event. We welcomed over 2,000 guests who explored and shopped over 30 artists from NW Art Alliance, feasted on the best hot dogs from Dante’s Inferno Dogs, drank amazing wine and listened to outstanding music from The Heather Sullivan Jazz Quartet.

It was great to see all the families enjoying our stunning grounds and spending the entire day with us. See you all next year!

4 placements in “Best Washington Wines”
Seattle Met Magazine, September 2012:
2010 Eroica Riesling, Columbia Valley
#29 — 92pts. The Eroica project brings together Chateau Ste. Michelle and famed winemaker Ernst Loosen of Germany's Mosel Valley. This off-dry wine is a riot of lime zest, white peaches, and green apple flavors, accented by tart, crisp acidity.
2009 Ethos Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley
#52 — 92pts. Ste. Michelle’s Ethos series is designed to show the best traits of each vintage. This 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is all that and more, rich with ripe fruit flavors in a big, bold style.
2008 Artist Series Meritage, Columbia Valley
#90 — 91pts. This is the first year that Chateau Ste. Michelle Meritage contains all five Bordeaux grape varieties, giving this wine a nice bit of added complexity. A touch over half cabernet sauvignon, it has abundant cherry, coffee bean, licorice and herbal notes.
2009 Canoe Ridge Estates Cabernet Sauvignon, Horse Heaven Hills
#103 — 91pts. An outstanding cabernet sauvignon for the price; a rich, hedonistic wine loaded with chocolate and cherry flavors.
