2010 C-S-M Red Wine: This is the third vintage of the C-S-M blend where I have been “Captain” during blending, and I love the interplay of these three varietals in one red wine. The blend of Cabernet, Syrah and Malbec yield a wine of bright and intense fruit character, nuance of layers, and soft silky tannin structure; all without any one varietal showing off too much or taking over the spotlight. Tight and firm Red Mountain Cab tannins blend nicely with Stone Tree Vineyard Syrah to form a plush and silky mouthfeel. Malbec always brings a polish to the tannins, and that bright brambleberry fruit note. Enjoy.
2010 Ethos Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: 2010 was a rather cool growing season in Washington. So, when tasting for the “best of the vintage” for Ethos Cab, we were leaning towards the warmer regions to get to that perfect level of ripeness and concentration. We hardly had to look further than our own Cold Creek Vineyard. This blend is 90% from our iconic Cold Creek site. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and proves that warm sites in cooler vintages can make dynamite wine. Enjoy with that bone-in rib steak or even some lamb (my personal favorite). Cheers!
There were two spectacular 2013 VRC Appreciation Events on July 20th and 21st. We saw energetic, dance-loving crowds for both shows, although my personal favorite dance moves were at the ARRIVAL show. The weather was good, the music was great and the wine was fantastic!
This year we raised almost $4,000 for the Washington Wine Commission at the dunk tanks. The money raised goes to support wine education efforts in Washington. Thank you to all of those who donated to this great cause.
Stay tuned as some more great events are coming your way for the fall and winter seasons.

92 pts - The Wine Advocate (June 2013)
A classy, elegant effort that has upside potential, this wine is a beautifully done 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 22 months in 69% new French oak, it’s a richly textured, medium to full-bodied 2010 that has classy black raspberry, creme de cassis, tobacco, spice and hints of chocolate as well as an elegant, pure feel on the palate.
