with Ginger & Anise

Wine Suggestion: Eroica Riesling
1 pound cauliflower, cut into florets
1 red pepper, julienned
1 yellow pepper, julienned
1-13 oz can garbanzo beans, drained
1/4 cup ginger, minced
1 tsp anise seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 cup riesling
1/2 cup water
1 Tbs olive oil
1 lime
salt & pepper to taste
Heat a saute pan over medium heat and then add the olive oil, cauliflower & peppers. Saute for about 2 minutes. Add the ginger and anise and continue cooking until the peppers soften and cauliflower starts to caramelize slightly, about 10 minutes. Add the garbanzo beans, turmeric, and Riesling. Cook until the wine reduces by half, then add the water and again reduce the liquid by half. Season with the juice of half a lime and add salt and pepper to taste. Add more lime juice if needed. Serve over rice or on it's own.
