FOOD & WINE just awarded Chateau Ste. Michelle's 2006 Indian Wells Merlot "Best Merlot $20 and Under" in the magazine's 12th Annual "American Wine Awards."
The October issue states, "The 2006 vintage was a difficult one in Washington's rugged Wahluke Slope area. But somehow, the unusually cool, wet spring and hot, dry summer combined to produce this gentle, minty, black-cherry-rich red."
