Tasting Notes

This is the wine I drink at home as an aperitif. The Chateau Ste. Michelle Dry Riesling is a dry, crisp, refreshing style of Riesling, with an elegant finish. It delivers pure cooler climate Riesling aromas and flavors of honeydew melon, dried apricot and tangerine. At the winery, we call this “baby Eroica,” because we usually take many of the lots for this blend that were in the final running for our Eroica Riesling. It’s a favorite wine of the winemaking staff and our little quality/value secret.

The Vineyards
  • The fruit for the Dry Riesling came from the Yakima and Columbia Valleys in Eastern Washington.
  • These vineyards lie in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains and receive just 6-8 inches of rainfall annually.
  • Warm, sunny days and cool evening temperatures create ideal conditions for intense aroma and flavor development in the ripening grapes.
