2009 Malbec

Horse Heaven Hills

“Every year I get Malbec from different areas of Washington state - some years we blend fruit from different sites, some years not! For the 2009 vintage, we stuck to our “homie” Vineyard at Canoe Ridge Estate. The Malbec is planted on the top of the ridge where exposure to winds from the Columbia Gorge can be fierce. These older vines have survived over the years and have made some really nice Malbec. The wine has great red fruit and a soft floral element in the nose. Intense jam and spicy elements in the palate give way to a round, soft finish. Try it with a grilled pepper steak or a BBQ pork sandwich!”
