“The 2008 Ethos Chardonnay features a unique blend of fruit from our Horse Heaven, Canoe Ridge Estate and Cold Creek vineyards. This is the first time we’ve added fruit from our Horse Heaven Vineyard to this Chardonnay – In 2008, there were some amazing old vine blocks of Chardonnay on the north side of the vineyard that could be called the “comeback player of the year.” I really love the harmony that all three vineyards provide to this year’s blend. The Horse Heaven provides some nice apple notes with beautiful aromatics, the Canoe adds elegance and balance, and the Cold Creek brings weight and structure – hence ageability. This Chardonnay is truly an expression of the winemaking team wanting to look at “old world” models in the midst of our beautiful Washington state Chardonnays. It will benefi t from 4-5 years of aging if you can wait that long. Enjoy!”
