Part of a Limited Release series, this wine includes 17% Syrah, but the varietal character of the Mourvèdre shines through. Light touches of chocolate, clean earth and mineral underscore flavors of plum and cherry. There is also a streak of vanilla, perhaps from aging in French and American oak.

This workhorse vineyard supplies grapes to a wide variety of wines across the entire Ste. Michelle portfolio, but the vineyard-designated wines are much more limited, and they’re often the best of show. As the alcohol reaches 15.5%, this selection is sappy, dense and a bit warm. There’s plenty of fruit flavor and concentration, but it’s difficult to pair such a blockbuster with food.
