Chateau Ste. Michelle 2007 Ethos Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

“Excellent”  Wine Press Northwest - March 1, 2011

Aromas begin with boysenberry, cassis and stewed plums, backed by coffee and chocolate. It turns into an unctuous drink that blossoms with cherries, chocolate and plums, capped by black chai in the finish. The 2006 version of this won a Platinum in 2010, so this vintage likely needs just a bit more time to come around.

Medium-dark purplish ruby; attractive, earthy, cedary, dark cherry fruit aroma; medium-full to full body; rich, plummy, dark cherry fruit flavors with a creamy mouthfeel, hints of chocolate, and a spicy edge on the finish; medium-full to full tannin; lingering aftertaste.

Bright and jazzy, with crisp acidity playing against ripe cherry and herb flavors and fine tannins. Finishes with a touch of earth.

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2007 Ethos Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

92 points  The Wine Advocate - August 31, 2010

The 2007 Ethos Cabernet Sauvignon is a glass-coating opaque purple color. It delivers a classy perfume of lavender, Asian spices, incense, rosemary, black currant, and blackberry. On the palate it displays excellent volume, savory flavors, plenty of concentration, and enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. It will offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2027.

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2006 Ethos Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

92 points  The Wine Advocate - October 31, 2009

The saturated purple-colored 2006 Ethos Cabernet Sauvignon also contains small quantities of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. Sourced from the Canoe Ridge Estate, Cold Creek Vineyard, and Wahluke Slope, it was aged for 22 months in French and American oak. Attractive aromas of cedar, spice box, boysenberry, plum, and mocha are followed by a complex Cabernet with a velvety texture, rich fruit, plenty of spice notes, and enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years. This lengthy effort will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2026.
