Chateau Ste. Michelle 2008 Ethos Reserve Late Harvest White Riesling Columbia Valley

90 points  International Wine Cellar - November 16, 2011

Gold color. Initially closed nose opens slowly to reveal apricot nectare, orange oil and a resiny nuance. Fat and very sweet, with thick stone fruit and honey flavors. A fruit bomb in the middle palate but a bit soft for this style. The persistent, honeyed finish could use more grip and acidity.

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2008 Late Harvest Ethos Reserve White Riesling Columbia Valley

  Baltimore Sun - November 4, 2011

...If you're looking for a superb dessert treat to follow the Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, this decadently wonderful wine justifies its price tag. It's patterned on the rare and wonderful beerenauslese dessert wines of Germany, and if it's any consolation, it's cheap by comparison. This nectar is packed with flavors of honey, winter spices, apricots, pear, apple and pineapple — then followed with penetrating acidity that keeps the fun going.

4 stars  Wine Peeps - October 17, 2011

Golden yellow in color. Nice nose with floral, white peach and orange aromas. White peach, tangerine, orange peel and floral flavors come through on the palate. Sweet and medium to full-bodied with crisp acidity. Well-balanced with good mouthfeel and a long, refreshing finish. A delicious dessert wine. 4 stars (out of 5) and 5 bangs for your buck (out of 5)

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2007 Ethos Late Harvest White Riesling Columbia Valley

Very few late harvest Rieslings grown anywhere will exhibit the keen focus found in this remarkably enjoyable wine. Its aromas of peaches, roasted nuts, jasmine, sweet smoke and honey are high in exceptionally energetic fruitiness and, even though the wine is one of the older in this tasting, it drinks like a wine that has room to grow and is likely to reward some three to six years of patience if you can resist its great charms even now.

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2008 Ethos Late Harvest White Riesling Columbia Valley

92 points  The Wine Advocate - August 31, 2011

The 2008 Ethos Late Harvest White Riesling finished at 8.0% alcohol and 22.8% residual sugar made from 50% botrytis-infected fruit. Tropical fruits, candied peaches and apricots, and ginger lead to a sweet, viscous elixir with impeccable balance and exceptional length. It will drink well for at least 8-10 years.
