91 points. Focused, juicy and distinctive for its rhubarb-inflected red berry and hibiscus flavors, lingering easily on a medium frame against refined tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
88 points International Wine Cellar - November 16, 2011
Moderately saturated red-ruby. Redcurrant, mocha, cola and high-toned spices on the nose. Sweet dark raspberry, currant and menthol flavors show a slightly green quality, and are carrying a full load of exotic oak. Not bad, but the finish shows strong oak tannins and a building herbal quality.
“Gold ” The News Tribune - November 7, 2011
A Grandview winery with tasting rooms in Kennewick and Woodinville won best in show Saturday evening at the 33rd annual Tri-Cities Wine Festival.
4 stars Wine Peeps - October 17, 2011
Aromatic with black fruit and oak on the nose. Black fruit, oak, leather, licorice, and a hint of chocolate come through on the palate. Medium to full-bodied and lively with medium to high tannins. Well-balanced with a long, smooth finish. 4 stars (out of 5)
90 points The Wine Advocate - August 31, 2011
The 2008 Meritage Artist Series is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. The wine was aged for 20 months in 85% new French oak. Notes of Asian spices, cedar, leather, earthy minerals, violets, and assorted black fruits inform the nose of an elegant, relatively forward, incipiently complex, nicely proportioned wine that offers a drinking window extending from 2012 to 2023.
