Washington Values. Smooth and vibrant, a juicy mouthful of pineapple, cream and pear flavors that remain pointedly focused as the finish lingers with finesse.

A smashing success, this exceptional value is loaded with the typical fruit flavors of cut green apple, pineapple and melon. The fruit is set in a creamy frame and finished with beautifully restrained oak accents that support it without burying it.

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2005 Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

“Excellent”  Wine Press Northwest - June 1, 2007

Bob Bertheau’s expressio! of Chardonnay from this site over the Columbia River skillfully straddles the balance of oak and fruit. Tropical notes and lemon curd meld with just a sniff of toasted oak. It’s rich and tropical across the palate with pineapples, baked pears and the taste and feel of bananas. Seven months on the lees provides lemon curd creaminess with some oak tannin, figs and pineapple in the background.

Polished, spicy and balanced, with zippy lime flavors, this shows notes of pineapple and pear, with appealing hints of minerality on the finish. -Harvey Steiman

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2004 Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard Chardonnay Columbia Valley

92 points - “2006 Top 100”  Wine Spectator - December 31, 2006

Ranked #62, Top 100 Wines of 2006... Canoe Ridge Estate, located in Washington’s newest appellation, Horse Heaven Hills, was planted by Chateau Ste. Michelle in 1989. Chateau Ste. Michelle farms the acreage facing the Columbia River, which moderates the region’s temperature and promotes even ripening. The 2004 growing season was hot, but a cool fall developed aromas and flavors and preserved the acidity in the grapes. Winemaker Bob Bertheau fermented the wine in French oak barrels, one-third new."^
