Like many wines from 2003, this seems a little distant at first, hidden behind its oak. With air the wine fills out with spice and dark plum flavors. This would benefit from a little cellar time; then serve with pot-a-feu.

I found the 2003 Merlot Ethos to be excellent. Exhibiting sweet blackberry, spice, and dark cherry aromas, this medium to full-bodied wine offers copious quantities of dark fruits in its pure, lengthy character. Its finish is loaded with tannin, yet nothing a well-grilled steak couldn’t cope with.'
