Chateau Ste. Michelle Announces its 2008 Summer Concert Series
Apr 18, 2008
Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville will kick off its 25th summer concert series on June 6th with a special performance by Crosby Stills & Nash. Tickets for the winery’s concerts will go on sale Saturday, April 26th at 10 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Chateau Ste. Michelle wine shop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The “2008 Chateau Ste. Michelle Summer Concert Series” will offer 20 concerts spanning the range of pop, jazz, rock and blues from June 6th through August 29th. Each concert takes place in the winery’s picturesque outdoor amphitheater with seating for 4,300. Acclaimed artists include James Taylor and his Band of Legends, Mark Knopfler, Chris Isaak, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Lyle Lovett, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Neville Brothers & Dr. John, Earth, Wind & Fire, BB King, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, as well as the KWJZ Music Festival and HippieFest.
“We are excited about this milestone of hosting our 25th season of performances at Chateau Ste. Michelle,” says Ted Baseler, President of Chateau Ste. Michelle. “I don’t think anyone realized 25 years ago that what started with a small blue grass music performance on our lawn would grow into one of the leading Pacific Northwest outdoor concert series for top national recording artists. And we are proud that the net proceeds from the concert series support our charitable giving efforts."
Net proceeds from the annual concert series help fund Chateau Ste. Michelle’s charitable contributions program, which supports a broad range of non-profit organizations. Funds will be raised specifically for the Chateau Ste. Michelle Diversity Scholarship Fund, in conjunction with Washington State University and the University of Washington, during the Smokey Robinson Aug. 1st concert.
All performances take place regardless of weather, and all shows feature general festival seating on the lawn. A limited number of reserved tickets are available for each show.
The Chateau Ste. Michelle wine shop is open before all concerts with wine and picnic items available for purchase. In addition, an array of food vendors will offer a selection of menu items for sale in the amphitheater. Concert-goers may also bring their own picnic baskets and non-alcoholic beverages. (The Washington State Liquor Control Board requires that all alcoholic beverages consumed on the winery grounds be purchased at the winery.)
Chateau Ste. Michelle is located at 14111 145th Street N.E. in Woodinville. For more information or directions, call the winery at 425/415-3300 or visit online at ste-michelle.com.
