Bratwurst Dogs with Peppers and Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 (18-oz) pkg original pork bratwurst links
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1½ cups Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling
  • ¼ cup whole grain Dijon mustard
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 6 hoagie rolls, split

Directions

  1. Cook sausages in hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. Add onions and peppers to skillet; cook 5 to 6 minutes or until crisp tender.
  3. Return sausages to skillet and add wine; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until sausages are done and wine is almost evaporated. 
  4. Meanwhile, stir together mustard, syrup, and vinegar in a bowl. 
  5. Serve sausages and peppers in rolls drizzled with mustard sauce.
