Chateau Ste. Michelle 1993 Cold Creek Vineyard Merlot Columbia Valley

Moderately full bodied. Moderate acidity. Lots of fruit. Heavily oaked. Moderately tannic. Chocolate, cherry cordial, black fruits, lavender. Excellent structure sets this serious red apart from many Merlots. Shows deep fruit, gorgeously integrated oak and extraordinary balance and complexity.^Also reviewed 7/01/96 Wines of the Month Score: 94^Rich, roasted flavors of clove and cardamom intermingled with blackberry and cherry make this concentrated wine extremely complex. Firm tannins are apparent suggesting some cellaring, but the balance is right on and the finish is long and spicy.
